The passing of Chester Pala

With great sadness in our hearts, we inform you of the passing of Chester Pala of the Pala Brothers Orchestra.

Chester, along with his brothers Wally and Al, formed their polka band in the 60s playing banquet halls, clubs and taverns throughout the Chicagoland area, Northwest Indiana, and across the country.

Their upbeat “Chicago style” of polkas has lasted through many generations and continues to be performed and re-recorded by many of our current polka bands. The Pala Brothers Orchestra recorded more than 10 albums and many 45s; all of which contain an assortment of original tunes.

Our sincere condolences go out to Chester’s wife Jean, along with Chester’s children and grandchildren.

Although the polka field has lost another legend, Chester’s memory will live on with the Pala Brothers polka music we all grew up with, and love.

These white roses in my garden are just for you; rest in peace Chester Pala.
