Get ready for an evening of high-energy music, great brews, and nonstop fun as “Polka Fever” comes to Ponysaurus Brewing Raleigh on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, from 6–9 PM. This lively event will feature performances by the Alex Meixner Duo and The Wolfpack Sound Polka Band, bringing an electrifying mix of traditional and contemporary polka sounds to the Raleigh Ironworks.
Alex Meixner delivers a dynamic fusion of polka, jazz, classical, and world music influences. Meixner, known for his virtuosic accordion style and engaging stage presence, has performed across the globe and at major festivals, earning a reputation as one of the most innovative artists in modern polka. His performances combine technical brilliance with an infectious energy that keeps audiences dancing and coming back for more.
Sharing the stage, The Wolfpack Sound Polka Band is an Eastern European-style ensemble made up of both alumni and current students of North Carolina State University. Founded by Mateusz Farmer, whose mother is a Polish immigrant, the group was created as a way to connect with cultural heritage while introducing and celebrating polka music in the Triangle, a region where Polish musical traditions have historically been underrepresented.
