IPA Hall of Fame Biography

Ted Lange has been active in the polka industry his entire life.  He got his start on drums with his parents’ band, the buckeye polka band at age five, and to date, has performed in 34 states, Canada, Mexico and Europe in addition to appearing on over 40 recordings.  In addition to his contributions as a musician, songwriter and arranger, Ted has served as a polka radio dj, festival promoter, president of the Ohio Polka Boosters, studio musician, recording engineer and producer, co-producer of the nationally syndicated tv program the “Mollie B Polka Party” and  co-producer and co-host of a polka radio show on SiriusXM.  In 2004 and 2007 he received Grammy nominations for his work on recordings by John Gora & Gorale’.  Ted has performed in the Warner Brothers' films “Welcome to Collinwood” with Toledo Polkamotion and “The Mule”  with Squeezebox where he performed a song he co-wrote.  Currently, Ted performs over 100 engagements yearly with his band Squeezebox joined by his wife and musical partner, Mollie B.


 


For his many accomplishments in the polka industry, Ted Lange has been deemed deserving by the electorate of the International Polka Association for induction into the Polka Music Hall of Fame®.
