I was previously on the IPA board from 1993-1997, as I was the financial secretary (Membership/Newsletters). I rejoined the IPA board in 2010 as the financial secretary once again. In February I was appointed the position of 1st Vice President.
I was born into polka music. My father had a band called the Dial-A-Tones, when I was just a baby. My Mom and Dad would take me to all the great polka events in the Chicagoland Area. Growing up I didn’t enjoy it as much as I do now. I really wish I would have enjoyed more of the jobs I attended where my father was playing with Marion Lush and the White Eagles. I also wish I would have made it a point to enjoy the wonderful vocals of Eddie Blazonczyk Sr. more!
I was born in Petersburg, Virginia where my father was stationed in the US Army. My parents and I moved back to Illinois when I was a little over one years old. We lived in the Southwest side of Chicago until I was 7 years old then moved to Bolingbrook, Illinois, where my parents currently live. I currently reside in Plainfield, IL with my husband John and two children Katie and Hayley.
I want to do whatever I can to preserve the music I love so much. I hope to help in the efforts to keep polkas going so my children, and maybe even grand children can grow up and enjoy it as much as I do. I want them to experience all of the wonderful places I have traveled and get to meet great friends like I have in the polka music industry.
I enjoy spending time with my husband, two children, and two step children. I also really enjoy extended family time, with not only my parents, brothers families, but also my Aunts, Uncles and cousins. I also enjoy running benefits for friends and their families in need. I was involved in two Center for Independence Fundraisers, two Stas Bulanda Benefits and the last one I Chaired was the All for Al Benefit, for my good friend Alan Zawislak.
