Board of Directors Election Eligibility

Listed below are the requirements for candidacy for the IPA Board of Directors.

All PositionsNominees shall not occupy any appointed or elected office of any other polka organization.   No nomination shall be valid unless agreed to by the nominee. A willingness to seek and accept office must be done in person at the annual meeting.  If unable to attend the annual meeting, candidates may also submit a signed and dated letter.  Such letters can be submitted for consideration in any of the following ways:  brought to the meeting by another member, given to an officer or director in advance of the meeting, mailed to the IPA @ 4608 South Archer Avenue, Chicago, IL 60632, or emailed to ipapolkas@gmail.com.

Terms and Requirements for All Positions

on the IPA Executive Board:

OFFICERS:

President (1-year term, must have served at least two years on Executive Board)

1st Vice President (2-year term, must have served at least two years on Executive Board)

2nd Vice President (2-year term, must be a member in good standing for one year)

Secretary (2-year term, must be a member in good standing for one year)

Treasurer (2-year term, must be a member in good standing for one year)

Financial Secretary (2-year term, must be a member in good standing for one year)

Sgt.-At-Arms (2-year term, must be a member in good standing for one year)

DIRECTORS:

6 Illinois Directors (2-year term, must be a member in good standing for one year)

6 Non-Illinois Directors (2-year term, must be a member in good standing for one year)

Requirements for Elections:  

Voters must be a member of the IPA for no less than 30 days before the Annual Meeting. Each nominee must be able to actively utilize e-mail and conference calling.  Meetings are generally held on Tuesdays, but flexibility in this regard is appreciated.  All members seeking a position on the board should expect to receive assigned duties and responsibilities.  These will include activities which support the ongoing operation of the organization, working at our annual convention and all other IPA events, as well as special projects as needed throughout the course of their term of office.
