STEVE MEISNER WAS BORN INTO A MUSICAL FAMILY ON APRIL 17, 1961, IN BELOIT, WISCONSIN, AND RAISED IN WHITEWATER, WISCONSIN.  HE BEGAN PLAYING THE PIANO ACCORDION AT AGE FIVE, PERFORMING SOON AFTER ON STAGE WITH HIS LEGENDARY FATHER, VERNE MEISNER.  SINCE THE AGE OF 16, STEVE HAS EARNED A LIVING AS A FULL-TIME MUSICIAN AND HAS PERFORMED WITH SOME OF THE NATION’S TOP ARTISTS THAT INCLUDE MYRON FLOREN, FRANK YANKOVIC, AND JOEY MISKULIN.  HE HAS PERFORMED NATIONALLY FROM COAST TO COAST INCLUDING THE KENNEDY CENTER AND LIBRARY OF CONGRESS, BEEN FEATURED ON TV IN TNN’S CROOK & CHASE SHOW AND ABC’S IN SEARCH OF AMERICA BROADCAST, APPEARED IN THE MOTION PICTURE CHUMP CHANGE, AND RECORDED 22 ALBUMS.  STEVE’S AWARDS INCLUDE HIS INDUCTION INTO THE WISCONSIN POLKA HALL OF FAME, THE NATIONAL CLEVELAND-STYLE POLKA HALL OF FAME, AND THE IRONWORLD POLKA HALL OF FAME.  HE WAS ALSO RECOGNIZED AS THE IPA’S 2017 AND 2018 FAVORITE INTERNATIONAL STYLE MALE VOCALIST AND 2018 FAVORITE INTERNATIONAL STYLE BAND.

 

FOR HIS MANY ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN THE POLKA INDUSTRY, STEVE MEISNER HAS BEEN DEEMED DESERVING BY THE ELECTORATE OF THE INTERNATIONAL POLKA ASSOCIATION FOR INDUCTION INTO THE POLKA MUSIC HALL OF FAME®.
